The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship supports outstanding community college students with financial need by providing funding for them to complete their bachelor’s degrees at US four-year colleges and universities. The Foundation provides approximately 50 highly competitive scholarships, which are intended to cover a significant share of the student’s educational expenses – including tuition, living expenses, books and required fees – for the final two to three years necessary to achieve a bachelor’s degree. Awards are valued at up to $30,000 per year and vary based on the cost of tuition as well as other grants or scholarships the student may receive.
To be eligible for the award, students must be current students at a 2-year institution in the US and have a cumulative college GPA of at least 3.5. All applicants must receive a nomination from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Faculty Representative at their two-year institution, so contact the designated faculty representative on your campus (http://bit.ly/q35mw6). Applicants can access the online application at www.jkcf.org on September 6, 2011 and must submit all completed materials by the deadline, December 6, 2011.
