IMPRS-Mic (Germany) Offers PhD Fellowships in Microbiology

Would you like to graduate from a renowned research school, located in one of the most beautiful old university towns in Europe?

The International Max Planck Research School for Environmental, Cellular, and Molecular Microbiology in Marburg (IMPRS-Mic) in Germany offers fellowships for a three-year structured PhD program.

Our graduate school is a joint initiative of the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology and Philipps-Universität Marburg and is committed to outstanding and multidisciplinary scientific training in modern microbiology. We provide excellent research facilities in the fields of cellular microbiology, molecular microbiology, biochemistry, biogeochemistry, microbial ecology, plant-microbe interactions, and parasitology. Students broaden their individual PhD projects by joint seminars, lectures, workshops, international research conferences, and retreats. The program is taught in English.

We invite highly qualified and motivated scientists with experience in the molecular aspects of biology and a Master’s or Diploma degree to apply.

The application deadline for students requiring a visa to come to Germany is January 15, 2012. For students who don’t require a visa, the deadline is 1 March 2012.

The program will start October 1, 2012.
