International Student Scholarships Available At University of Nebraska-Omaha

To demonstrate its commitment to international students, the Office of International Studies and Programs at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) awards two scholarships to academically talented students from around the world. UNO Advantage Scholarships allow recipients to pay resident tuition rates, which typically reduces tuition charges by about 65%. Scholarships are worth $6,600 to $8,500 per year and are renewable annually with good academic progress. New International Student Scholarships are worth $6000 per academic year and are not renewable. Partial grants of $3,000 are sometimes awarded for a single semester.

To qualify for consideration, students must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, be a prospective UNO undergraduate or graduate student (not currently enrolled), and be a J-1 or F-1 visa applicant or visa holder. Students can apply for these scholarships online or submit a downloadable application via mail.

International students may also qualify for graduate assistantships or department scholarships (open to both undergraduate and graduate students). Check with your specific academic program to ask about additional oppurtunities, eligibility requirements, and application procedures.
