The Global Social Entrepreneurship Competition (GSEC) is a leading-edge international social venture plan competition, where interdisciplinary student teams from around the world propose innovative, commercially viable businesses aimed at reducing poverty in developing countries.
Sponsored by the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington, the GSEC offers monetary prizes to teams that develop the most innovative businesses with the best integration of financial and social returns on investment, including Information & Communication Technologies (ICT) and Global Health. GSEC business plans may focus on any subject area and it is open to currently enrolled students at any academic institution of higher education worldwide. Applications will be available in July 2011.
