PARTIAL TO FULL FUNDING FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AT PITTSBURG STATE UNIVERSITY

Pittsburg State University is a public university located in the southeast corner of the state of Kansas. Serving approximately 7,000 students,  PSU has an international population of about 500 students from 40 different countries. Pittsburg State offers more than 100 internationally recognized undergraduate and graduate  degrees. 

Although the university is more than 100 years old, class sizes have remained small and individually focused. Pittsburg State University is very attractive to prospective international students because of the quality of our programs and the comparatively low tuition fees.

Several scholarship opportunities are available to international students and selection is based on academic records submitted with the application.  Undergraduate scholarships cover partial to full tuition while graduate assistantships can cover tuition, stipend for living expenses:

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ACADEMIC AWARD AVAILABLE AT NORTHERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY

The International Academic Award is available to academically talented, undergraduate international students who are enrolled at Northern Michigan University as first-time, full-time baccalaureate students.

The award reduces tuition and this reduction can amount to a savings of $1,100 per spring semester, $1,100 per winter semester, $1,000 per spring/summer semester, or up to $3,200 per calendar year. 

The international student must meet the following conditions in order to be eligible: 

Must hold a valid, in status, F-1 Visa.
Must achieve a 3.00 cumulative GPA (or higher) within the first four semesters of study at NMU, with a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.  
o Note: Sixteen credit hours per semester are needed to complete most degree programs within 8 semesters.
Recipients of the International Academic Award will be provided the opportunity to perform up to 15 hours of community service for each semester the award is received.

Mount Holyoke's 21st Century Scholars Program is their most distinguished and generous merit award. Each year, approximately 35 new scholars are welcome into the program.

PVC Academic Excellence Award

The PVC Academic Excellence Award is awarded to foundation and degree students enrolled from 2011 onwards and who have not received any scholarships from Swinburne Sarawak or other bodies.

Eligibility
Foundation Level: Awarded to Foundation program student who attain at least 4 high distinctions in all units of study in a full term load.
Degree Level: Awarded to Degree program student who attain at least 4 high distinctions in all units of study in a full term load.

Value of Award
Foundation Level: Fee waiver of RM1,000.00 and a certificate of excellence.
Degree Level: Fee waiver of RM2,000.00 and a certificate of excellence.

Criteria
The scholarship will be awarded on a one-off basis.

General terms
1. The scholarship application form must be completed, signed and attached with the required documents. Any incomplete application may result in the application being rejected.
2. Students who are eligible but fail to apply for the scholarship by the closing date will not be entertained.
3. Scholarships will be awarded to qualified students one month after the closing date.
4. Student is only entitled to one scholarship from any organisation.
5. Student must be enrolled with Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus.
6. The University shall not be responsible for application forms that are misplaced, lost or that do not reach the designated department of the University.
7. All scholarship awards are to be given as program fee rebates only and cannot be exchanged for cash.
8. Scholarship will be forfeited if the student withdraws from the program or transfers to Swinburne, Australia.
9. The scholarship is non-transferable.
10.The scholarship will be forfeited if the recipient fails to meet the academic requirements stipulated in the respective scholarship scheme, and will not be reinstated.
11. The decision of the University is final. No appeals will be considered.

2011-2012 European Business School London International Scholarship

We are delighted to invite you to participate in the annual EBS London International Scholarship Competition. Each year we offer:

Tanjong Scholarship Awards 2011

Tanjong Group of Companies, as part of its commitment to being a good corporate citizen, offers educational scholarships to deserving Malaysian students to pursue their tertiary education at Malaysian universities.

Tanjong Scholarship Awards

The Tanjong Scholarship Awards (TSA) are open to financially needy and academically deserving Malaysian students to pursue full-time degree programmes in any discipline at public universities in Malaysia.

Funded by Pan Malaysian Pools Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tanjong, the TSA 2011 are open to Malaysian citizens who have obtained 4 principals with a minimum of 3As in their STPM 2010 examination, or completed Matriculation Programme for the 2010/2011 session with a minimum CGPA of 3.5. Applicants who are active in sports and/or co-curricular activities would have an added advantage.

The value of each award is between RM8,000 and RM9,000 per academic year for the minimum period required to complete the course of study.

There is no bond attached to the Scholarship. However, as part of the Group's efforts to develop its human capital, scholars will be given preference in respect of employment opportunities within the Group upon their graduation.

Tanjong scholars are also provided with personal development training in the areas of leadership, communication, teamwork and creativity as well as working attachments in various departments within the Group during their study breaks in the first year.

Application for the TSA 2011 is now open. Details of the scholarship awards are available from the advertisement published in major newspapers in Malaysia between 19 May and 22 May 2011.

Closing date for submission of application form is Friday, 10 June 2011. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview.

2011 Malaysian Alumni Scholarship for Malaysian Students at University of Canterbury

This scholarship was established in 2010 from donations received from alumni living in Malaysia. Major donors to this scholarship are the Oh family in Kuala Lumpur and Christchurch, and the Sibu and Kuching alumni chapters. The major donors’ intent was to help setup a scholarship that recognises the past education links between Malaysia and New Zealand under the Colombo Plan which saw a number of Malaysians being given the opportunity to study at the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand. They trust that this scholarship will carry on those traditions and support successful applicants from Malaysia in their study at the University of Canterbury. The scholarship shall be known as the Malaysian Alumni Scholarship.

The scholarship shall be awarded annually at the beginning of the University year, to an international student from Malaysia who is enrolling full time at the University of Canterbury in their first year of study of any discipline

Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children (SPDC) to pursue Undergraduate, Professional and General courses in India

The Government of India has announced a special scholarship programme for the children of Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) for pursuing undergraduate professional and general courses in India during the commencement of the 2011-12 academic year. Scholarships are being offered for Undergraduate courses in disciplines including Engineering / Architecture / Technology, Humanities / Liberal Arts, Commerce, Management (Bachelor of Business Administration / Bachelor of Business Management), Journalism, Hotel Management, Agriculture / Animal Husbandry, Sciences, Law, etc., except for medical and related courses.
 
The scholarship offers 75% of the Institutional Economic Cost (IEC) or US $ 3,600, whichever is less. IEC includes Tuition fee, Hostel fee and other institutional charges (Food charges are excluded).

NRI candidates would be eligible for the grant of scholarship only if their total family income does not exceed an amount equivalent to US $ 2,250 per month. Children of NRIs should have pursued at least three years of education inclusive of 11th & 12th or equivalent (not beyond), in a foreign country during the last six years, and have passed the qualifying examination abroad.
 
Candidates would be selected on the basis of merit. A Merit List would be drawn up on the basis of marks obtained by all the eligible candidates in STPM or ‘A’ Levels (or equivalent) exam. For more details on drawing of the Merit List, please refer to the ‘SPDC 2011-12 Information Booklet’ at the website of the High Commission of India.
 
Eligibility:
Age: Applicants in the age group of 17 to 21 years as on 1st October 2011 are eligible to apply for SPDC 2011-12 i.e. applicants born on or after 1st October 1990 and before 1st October 1994 are eligible to apply for the year 2011-12.
 
Academic Qualification: Candidates with 60% aggregate marks or equivalent grades in Higher Secondary (12th standard) or equivalent i.e. STPM, ‘A’ Levels, etc., as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), are eligible to apply. The candidates must have studied the prescribed essential subjects at the qualifying examination level to pursue a particular course of study.

International Baccalaureate Scholarship Valued at $15,000 Available at Winthrop University

2011 IET Scholarships for International Students Studying in the UK

Scholarships are only available for accredited courses at UK universities. International students who are or who will be studying in the UK are welcome to apply.

-You must supply full, correct details of your selected university (e.g. ‘Manchester Metropolitan’, not ‘MMU’), degree type and course title (e.g. ‘BEng Electrical & Electronic Engineering’) and the UCAS code for your course (e.g. H600). If you are not sure of any of these, please check with the university. Applications with incomplete or incorrect course details will not be accepted.

-Date of commencement is the month and year you started or propose to start the degree course (not including foundation years).

-If you are not already at university, please scan and send any documentation from UCAS or your chosen university which confirms registration on your degree course.

-If you do not require a visa to study in the UK, you may apply for an undergraduate scholarship for degree courses starting in 2011. Yayasan Bursa Malaysia Scholarship Programme 2011-2012

Yayasan Bursa Malaysia Scholarship programme is designed to target best-in-class achievers who have obtained excellent results in major government examinations e.g. Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) or Matriculation, for sponsorship in local public or private universities. Since 2006, the scholarship has been awarded to five qualified students each year, in which five have since graduated and placed within Bursa Malaysia’s workforce.

Eligibility Criteria: The applicant should-
- Be Malaysian citizen aged below 22 years old.
- Secured a place at any local public or private university for a full time undergraduate degree course for the 2011 intake.
- STPM result- minimum 2 As and 2 Bs ; or A levels-minimum 2 As and 1 B, or Matriculation –minimum CGPA of 3.5 and above; or equivalent.
- Proven records in extra curricular and or social community service activities, preferably holding leadership position.

Sunway Chinese Independent Schools ECA - Undergraduate Scholarship 2012

Overview

The Sunway Chinese Independent Schools ECA-Undergraduate Scholarship is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in academic and extra-curricular activities (ECA). It is based on academic merits and ECA performance of students sitting for the 2011 UEC examination.
Entitlement
Successful candidates will be awarded 30% or 50% tuition fee waiver for their undergraduate studies in Sunway University or Sunway College. (Applicable to February and March 2012 intakes only)
Eligibility

Media Prima Radio Networks has always been about supporting and giving a lending hand to young and impressionable students a chance for excellence as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative under Live Out Loud (LOL). With that One, Fly & Hot FM are collaborating with Saito College to give out a scholarship to a deserving student who has exhibited strong academic performance and an inclination towards creativity.

Calling all students who are planning to pursue their undergraduate studies to give yourself a chance of a life time with Saito College and apply NOW! The Scholarship offers the student financial aid to pursue his/her higher education and also an opportunity to undergo internship with Hot FM, Fly FM or One FM upon graduating.

Under this scholarship scheme, (1) student will be fully sponsored on a RM32,100 tuition fee for entry in one of the following courses namely Diploma in Creative Advertising, Diploma in Graphic Design and Diploma in Multimedia Design.

The University of South Carolina Upstate Scholars Program for new and continuing students assists academically talented individuals in their pursuit of higher education. The Academic and Cultural Sharing Scholarship reduces tuition for undergraduate international students to 50 percent of the out-of-state tuition rate. This scholarship is available to all bachelor's seeking international students who qualify for admission at North Dakota State University and hold F-1 student status.

Given the nature of the scholarship, recipients are expected to share their cultures with U.S. students, faculty, staff and members of the community in activities that are academically and culturally beneficial. This enables people to increase their knowledge of the scholarship recipients' cultures and countries of origin and to gain a better sense of global society. KLSCCCI University / College Scholarship Fund 2011

THE Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor (KLSCCCI) University / College Scholarship Fund is now open for application.

The fund includes scholarships and loans. Applicants must be Malaysian students regardless of race and accepted or in the process of applying at a university, college, technical or vocational training centre locally or overseas.

Applicants should excel academically, be active in co-curricular activities, have good conduct and come from a needy family.

2011 marks the sesquicentennial of the beginning of the American Civil War in 1861. Compared to his Confederate opponent Jefferson Davis, Abraham Lincoln had a very limited military background. How well did Lincoln adjust to becoming a war president during the trying first year of the war?
Contest Rules
  • Please examine the rules below closely before contacting The Lincoln Forum or the contest coordinator with eligibility questions.
  • The scholarship essay contest is designed for students who are FULL TIME, undergraduate students in an AMERICAN COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY during the Spring 2011 semester. The July 31 deadline is designed to give these students time to finish their essays, if need be, after final exams.
  • You do not have to be an American citizen, but you do need to be attending an AMERICAN COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY during the eligibility period.
  • It is NOT open to high school students. Key question to consider; when we contact your college or university registrar will they be able to confirm that you were enrolled as a full-time college student during the spring 2011 semester? If the answer is no, you are not eligible.
  • The eligibility of entrants will be confirmed by the Lincoln Forum prior to the awarding of prizes.
  • Entries will be judged by the essay committee of The Lincoln Forum.
  • Deadline for entries is July 31, 2011
  • Entries must contain a minimum of 1,500 and a maximum of 5,000 words.
  • Essays may be submitted via regular mail (postmarked by July 31, 2011) or via e-mail (time stamped before midnight PST July 31, 2011) to the address below.
  • The essay must be typed and include a works-cited page or bibliography. End notes are suggested but not required.
  • There is no application form for the contest. The essay and your contact information serves as your application.
  • Applicants must include the name of their college or university with their entire and all contact information (regular and email address) must be put on the essay proper.
  • Judging will take place during the fall. The three winners will be announced at the Lincoln Forum annual meeting in Gettysburg on November 18th. Checks from the Lincoln forum will be sent to the winners in December 2011. The scholarship prize money is designed as a reward for academic excellence. It can be used for any purpose the winner desires.

University of Southampton Fashion Marketing Scholarship

Application required unless approved by interview. These are available to both UK/EU and International students. These scholarships are £500 for UK/EU students and £1,000 for international students. They are offered on “first come, first served” basis.

A limited number of scholarships are available to eligible students who have accepted a place on the BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing Programme for the coming academic year and who are not in receipt of any other scholarship/bursary from WSA. These scholarships are for the first year only.
